The master plan is designed for the conservation area of the Namoncahue Biological Corridor (30,000 ha.) located in the Araucarias Biosphere Reserve, one of the 25 WWF conservation hot spots worldwide. This initiative managed by CPPCh incorporates lands of the Chilean Parks Corporation, Rainforest Concern, CONAF and private owners, and is a pioneer in this type of conservation project in Chile.
The master plan emphasizes scientific research activities, environmental education and scientific tourism.
